The Importance of Manners Towards Parents, Teachers, and Religion
We all know that manners towards our parents, teachers, and religion are important. So, have you done what you must do for them?
Well, my name is Alia Keisha Fawzia from eleventh grade science.
Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb.
May peace be upon you.
Excellency the head master of MA Diponegoro Yogyakarta, honorable teachers and staff, honorable ail committees, and dear all audiences.
First of all, let’s give thanks to Allah, who has given us some mercies and blessings, so we can attend this Madipo Fest Competition without any obstacles.
Secondly, may Salam and Shalawat always be given to our prophet Muhammad SAW, who has guided us from the darkness to the lightness, from the stupidity to brilliancy by Islam religion that we love so much.
Thirdly, I will never forget to say thank you to the committees who have given me the opportunity to deliver my speech about manners to our parents, our teacher, and to our religron.
First, manners to our parents. Allah SWT says in Surah al-lsra’ verses 23-24, “Your Lord has commanded you not to worship anyone other than Him and to do good to your parents. If one of them or both of them reaches old age in your care, then never say to both of them the word “ah” and do not shout at both of them, and say to both of them good words.”
Humble yourself towards both of them with great affection and say, “O my Lord, love both of them as they both loved me when they were educating me when I was little.”
These ayahs contain Allah’s command to his servants to not do worship except for Allah SWT, and they contain the command to do good to our beloved parents. Don’t you dare say the ‘ah’ word and raise your voice in front of your parents.
Second, manners toward our teachers. Apart from being filial to our parents, we are also obliged to be respectful and obedient to our teachers. Teachers are second parents, educating students to become better individuals. Obeying their orders, as long as they don’t conflict with religious or state law, is as important as obeying our parents. Teachers not only provide teaching in various disciplines but are also tasked with educating children to become good human beings who are physically and spiritually healthy citizens who love their nation.
Third, manners towards our religion Allah SWT says in Surah al-Kafirun verses 1-6, “Say (Muhammad), “O disbelievers, I will not worship what you worship. And you are also not worshipers of what I worship. And I was never a worshiper of what you worship. And you never (neither) become a worshiper of what I worship. For you is your religion, and for me is my religion.
“Through this surah, the Prophet Muhammad Saw wants to teach us that, as believers we should have a firm and strong personality that is not shaken by anything. In general, Surah Al Kafirun contains the meaning of religious tolerance. This tolerance means understanding the reality of differences in religion and belief; it does not mean recognizing and justifying religions other than Islam.
These are the things that you have to do to complete our obligation toward parents, teachers, and religion. Manners towards them are a must. So think about it and apply it to your daily life.
Last but not least, you have a priority to do, so prioritize them according to that priority.
Ladies and gentlemen. Maybe just it from me; if you find any mistakes in my speech, please forgive me. Thank you for your nice attention. See you on top.
The last I say,
Wassalamualaikum Wr. Wb.
